When I attended Innovations Longarm Conference last Fall, I took a class about how to piece a strip quilt on a longarm. Channel locks here I come! Really fun concept, so I thought I’d give it a try. It took me only about an hour (not including cutting the strips) to sew this quilt together on the longarm! It gets quilted along the seamline as you go, and then I added quilting in the borders and of course the cute motorcycles in each strip. The motorcycle design is a pantograph. I’m a free motion, make-it-up-as-you-go kind of quilter, so learning how to use a pantograph seemed somewhat restrictive, but I wanted to learn how. And I think it came out really cute! The quilt was for a friend of mine who just loves Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
