Creme Brulee

One cannot live by quilting alone! My hubby decided to make creme brulee (and I didn’t argue). So he made the custard and then fired up the blow torch and attempted to carmelize the sugar. It didn’t work quite the way he wanted, so he then got another heating gun tool out and started on that. Although I don’t have pictures of the second attempt (yes, we ate two each), it turned out perfectly brown and crispy without burning. I think he is going to experiment more on this unique dessert until he gets it right. Darn. (Guess I’d better up the workout programs!)

  1. Hey, I used to work with someone who kept a mini blowtorch in her office cubicle so she could have creme brulee on demand. So decadent.
