I may be a little late in reporting this, but I have to get in my 15 minutes of fame (because that’s probably all there will ever be!). In November (at least I think that was the month – I’m getting old you know!), I was “crowned” Quilt Queen in my quilt group. It’s a fleeting existence as the queen because the crown rotates each month to the most productive member.
It all began when Kathy, talented artist-of-all-things, made the crown and promptly handed it to Lora, whom we all knew was the winner. After learning to quilt just last year, Lora has completed over 25 quilts. Well, not to be outdone, I burned the midnight oil, pounded the pavement, and came up with several finished projects the next month, and so, was voted in (with no bribes mind you) queen for the month. In December, I knew the writing was on the wall when Nancy came in with a stack of finished quilts. Before the voting began I simply handed the crown over to her. Later in the afternoon, it became official, of course.
So that’s my queenly story, and I’m sticking with it.
Happy quilting!
