A New York Minute Quilt Class

I will be teaching a class on how to make “A New York Minute” quilt at Piece by Piece on Saturday, August 13th. This quilt was designed by Sheila Sinclair Snyder (who taught me how to longarm!) and it is now in her new book which just came out, “Perfect-Fit Pieced Borders.” You can sign up for the class by calling Piece by Piece to register, or get more information about the class by going to the class schedule on their website. There are two samples of “A New York Minute” hanging in the classroom at Piece by Piece. One is very modern with greens and browns, and the other is softer with pinks and grays. There are so many ways to make A New York Minute you will most likely want to make more than one! I know I do…and have!

When picking out the fabric for this quilt, it is best to start by finding a multi-colored stripe that you just love, then find other fabrics that coordinate around that stripe.

Directly following the class, Sheila will be on-hand to show and talk about the quilts from her new book, and of course, sign her books.  This is one trunk show you don’t want to miss! For Sheila’s teaching schedule and book tour, check out her website: License To Quilt

  1. I’m SO looking forward to this! It’s just plain fun to see everyone’s fabric combinations come to life. The quilt is fast and pretty easy, I know it will be a great day!
