It is Blackberry Jam Festival time again and I know you will want to be part of the quilt raffle this year! This year’s quilt is the best ever…it is titled “Tranquil Forest”, a beautiful contemporary 86” x 96” quilt. Of course, this photo doesn’t do it justice. Each of the Lowell Pine Needlers made several blocks and then we all sewed it together.
As many of you know, the Lowell-Dexter-Fall Creek area is a small rural community and this Jam Festival is a family community event, complete with our quilt raffle, parade, local music, a car show, fishing derby and greased pole climb. The members of our Pine Needlers, local quilting group, presented donation checks to the Lowell Fire Department, Lowell Food Pantry and the Lowell Library. These funds were raised through the sale of the raffle tickets for the 2011 Blackberry Jam Raffle Quilt. All of the funds raised by this quilt raffle are re-invested back into our community. We successfully raised over $2,500. The remaining balance went back into the Blackberry Jam fund to help with next year’s event.
Since we are such a small community, you will have an excellent chance of winning this quilt or one of the many other prizes!
Let me know how many tickets you would like. Really, a great bargain at 6 for 5$, 24 for $20, etc! You don’t need to be present to win! You can also send a check to me, made out to “Blackberry Jam Festival” and I will fill out the tickets for you…all I need is your phone number for when we call!
