International Quilt Day

Today is “International Quilt Day.” So take a moment and look at some quilt history and traditions…whether in your family (get out that scrapbook!) or in our country. Go into your studio and relish in the fact that you HAVE a studio, or a space to sew. Touch all your favorite things…special books, fancy needles, piles of fabric, that antique sewing machine. Reflect on all the quilts you’ve made for family and friends and charities; all the time you’ve spent making these quilts – all the late nights, or early mornings you were up and into your studio before the sun peeked over the horizon.

There are some free videos (you do have to create a logon) at The Quilt Show! available on March 17. One of the free videos of about Gees Bend quilts and it’s pretty interesting. I have a free account there and usually there are always some free videos available on one topic or another.

Happy quilting!

  1. And when you’re done reflecting on quilts and fondling your fabric, put on some green and celebrate St. Paddy’s day! …Top o’ the mornin’ to you!
