Alaska!

It was a wonderful trip. We dropped the puppy-dog off at the kennel, drove up to Seattle, got on the ship, and all we had to do was enjoy ourselves. We traveled from Seattle to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria. Ate too much. Drank almost too much (and a LOT less than most of the people on the boat!). Avoided formal night. Went to the gym a couple times (yep, they had a rowing machine). Laughed at our cruise director, Alejandro (called Ale-handsome by the staff) from Argentina. He had a different suit for every night of the cruise. On the last night he wore a gold (think gold lame) suit and tie. He was about 5’tall so I guess he could get away with it. But seriously!!

We saw bald eagles, orcas, sea lions, bunnies, and bears.  We went to several lectures on the boat by Brent Nixon. He was extremely funny and presented information in such an engaging way (like the time he was flopping on the stage like a sea lion!). He was on the boat the entire cruise and we learned a lot about bears, whales, and eagles during the week.We brought some really good binoculars and they really made the difference in seeing things on shore. Would I do it again? Oh, you betcha! (Oh, and for those of you who were worried about how Willow did at the kennel, here ya go…..see her in action!)
