Where do you set those large casserole dishes on the table when they are hot? I found this cute FREE pattern at Esch House Quilts. I knew I had to make one.
It’s for a 9 x 13 hot pad (but easy to adjust the size if you want) and it’s so simple to make. Just scroll down on their free projects page until you get to the Holiday Tree Hot Pad, then download the free pattern.
It only takes a an hour or so to make, so you could make several. You don’t need much fabric and you could scrap together the background as well if necessary. The pattern they show is using a single piece of fabric for the tree, but you know how I am; I just HAD to scrap it up. You might have to buy some Insul-Bright 
Insul-Bright Needlepunched Insulated Lining -45″ x 1 yard
if you don’t have that laying around, but otherwise you might just have everything you need. And heck, why stop with Christmas themes? How about Valentines or Easter. So many possibilities. There are hot casserole dishes at every occasion and you want to be prepared!
Some of the students are making this little project in my Scrapalicious Class this week and I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
