The Challenge is on!

Starting last year, my quilt group, the Lowell Pine Needlers, began an annual challenge.  We selected a specific fabric and everyone makes something using the challenge fabric.  Each person came up with a unique project and the results were displayed at the annual Blackberry Jam Quilt Show in late July. We had so much fun last year we decided to make it an annual challenge.

2015 challenge fabricThis year we chose a fabric designed by  Carrie Bloomston of Such Designs for Windham Fabrics. It’s called “Collage” and as you can see, it offers up a multitude of color opportunities.

It’s going to be fun to see what everyone comes up with this year.  And if you are thinking we just make quilts, or no! There could be baskets, or bags, or clothing, or aprons, or dolls…..we get to use the fabric in whatever way we want. So stay tuned. With enough time and energy, I will post pictures of the results in early August.

And don’t forget you can still buy tickets for our annual raffle quilt, which is another stunner this year. We are calling it “Shattered Ice.”

Happy quilting!
