Zip It Up Class on Craftsy.com

I’ve signed up for this one! I’m always looking for cute little bags to make because they are fun to make and give as gifts. It’s a project that even I can get done in a day (usually). And as you know, the holidays are fast approaching! Eek.

And did you know at Craftsy you can give classes as a gift? When you go to purchase one, it is an option. What a fun surprise that would be sitting in your friend’s email in-box!

Towerhouse Quilts Open House

Towerhouse Quilts Open House!

Christmas OrnamentFor those of you who live locally, I’m having my annual open house again this year! But this year the event is going to be a bit different. Since I’m back at work full-time (not longarming!), this years open house will be more of a holiday sale featuring local artists. I will, of course, have  some fabric, my patterns, a few small quilts and other items for sale, but mostly the other artists will be front and center.

We will have Kathy Frazer of Moonsilver Studio with her beautiful jewelry, Janan who makes wonderful felted products, Amber of Paper Bloomz with her amazing handmade paper flowers, Ruth George featuring her unique handmade greeting cards, and Sally Ott and Susan Petersen of Sally Glass with there fused glass gifts. All these artists are local, so come on out and support them!

The event will run from 1 – 4 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015. If you haven’t been to my house before and need directions, please contact me. And remember, my driveway is a one-way affair, so be cautious when driving up or down because there will be lots of cars going to and fro during the afternoon since this is a drop-in event.

Happy quilting!

Make It Yourself Magazine

Make It Yourself Magazine
My projects start on page 53!

Check out the latest issue of Make It Yourself Magazine!

This is the result of another project collaboration with Sheila Sinclair Snyder. She is so creative and fun to work with! Whenever we have the opportunity to work (or is it play?) together, something wonderful always comes from it. Thank you for that Sheila!

Last year we did some up-cycled sweater projects for this magazine, and now they are featuring some of our coiled projects in this Fall/Winter issue of Make It Yourself! Starting on page 53 you will see some fabulous small projects to make. Use your leftover sweaters or your leftover cotton strips….either can work and it’s really fun. And the best part? They can be done really quickly! So if you are needing to make some holiday gifts this year, these won’t break the bank, nor do they take much time. And they are oh so fun!

I found the magazine at my local JoAnn’s, but you can also order them online too. Oh, and there are “other” totally cool projects in this issue….so enjoy!
