Taking a Break

It’s been about 12 years since I started longarming. Six of those years was a full-time effort for Towerhouse Quilts, and the next six years was working on quilts on weekends, after my full-time job duties for the week were over. It has been a glorious journey!

Here are a few of the quilts I’ve worked on recently for my customers…

But now it’s time for a break….

Time to fill up the creative well, work on some of my own projects, explore new ideas, continue on my knitting path….maybe even read a book or two! Nope, I’m not retiring. Just taking a longarm break. I don’t know how long the break will be, but I know at some point I will be back doing customer quilts because I do LOVE longarm quilting! And I love seeing all the beautiful quilts that pass through my studio on their way to you.

A big THANK YOU to all my customers over the years for allowing me to be part of your quilting journey.

Happy new year! Be well….and keep quilting!

Finally Quilting Again

Sometimes my “real job” just gets in the way. But over the last few months I’ve managed to squeak in a few quilts. These are quilts from Arlene A, Julie R, Joyce W, and Gerry B. And yes, those red lips are filled in with thread! Just silly and fun. I look forward to the day when I can do more longarming. But for now, the occasional quilt will have to suffice.

Happy quilting!

Back to the Longarm

I finally got back to my longarm machine!

I was inspired by Chris D’s quilt and was excited to work on it. So lots of bubbles and swirls later, (OK, and a few straight lines on the feathers), I was happy with the results. And it was just so darned fun to get back working with my machine. (Darn if that full-time job doesn’t get in the way!)

And I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!
