Wine Bottle Cork

Wine Cork (1)

Have you ever seen such a wonderful wine stopper?

I think not! My friend Joyce made me this a few years ago. Yes, she MADE it with her own two hands. Handmade in America!

And guess what, I’m not even close to being tired of it. It looks different from ever angle. It’s so wonderful! I love using it.

We should all have such talented and generous friends!

Wine Tasting

wine 001

So I haven’t done much quilting lately, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, but there has been this…..wine tasting!

My new shipment from NakedWines.com arrived today. I’m an “angel investor” with them. It’s a great way to support small winemakers from around the world and to try some really drinkable varieties. I opened a bottle of Malbec from Argentina this evening….

I really will get back to quilting one day. But not today!

Wine Trip

Wine Trip 2014
Six heads are better than one….?

This trip was all about girlfriends and wine and new friends! On my first-ever wine tour where we were driven from winery to winery, I had the most fabulous time. I will definitely do it again. And I will sign up with Cork & Barrel Wine Tours again for sure. Erik and Kimberly were amazing hosts and drivers and made us feel pampered every step of the way. Why did I wait so long to do this? Perhaps, like all things in life, the time has to be right to appreciate it. Well, the time was definitely right!

For a limited time, Cork & Barrel are having a special BOGO (buy one get one free!) so If I were you, I would run, not walk, to your phone or email and contact them about a tour with your friends (and no, I don’t get any kickbacks from this!). Their van holds up to 8 people, but we had 7 and managed to fill up seat #8 with wine! Who knew?

All the wineries and people we met were wonderful, but I think my favorite winery was Abacela. Abacela WineSo get out there and enjoy your day….with whatever you choose to do!
